We are people living in the vicinity of Styal with a desire to see a viable future for Styal railway station.

We are a "Friends" group for the station.  The local rail operator, Northern Rail, is progressive in this respect and encourages community engagement.

Initial aims:

• Campaigning for a restoration of rail services to facilitate a commute to/from Manchester and to/from Wilmslow and Alderley Edge High Schools.
• Seeking an increase in rail services to serve the community, visitor attractions and HMP Styal. from 2009.
• Enhancing the appearance of the station (Styal themed signs, flowers).
• Provision of a station community notice board.
• Provision of real-time information screens on each platform.
